This animation was rendered in YT, and shows the gas density (left, see units) and temperature (right) around a ~200 kpc physical volume around a Milky Way mass galaxy in formation (see time and scale-bars). Dashed circle marks the virial radius of the galaxy at all times. You can easily see feedback in action and the formation of the “hot halo” around the central galaxy. Credit Cameron Hummels.
