Ph 236c -- Project Details

The Ph 236c final projects will be in lieu of the final exam. The idea of the project is to explore an area related to general relativity that may be of interest to you but was not covered in class. It will probably involve some reading of the recent literature, and must involve a calculation of some kind (either analytical or numerical). The project may be related to your research but may not simply be a component of your current research project.

Prior to commencing the project, you should write a brief (1-paragraph) proposal and send it to me for approval. Examples of areas where you might look for a project are below, but you don't have to choose from the list.

The final project will take the place of 3 homeworks and should be planned to be of a corresponding size.

Partner projects are allowed, so long as the contribution of each partner (to both the project execution and the report) are identified and similar in scale. The overall project would be expected to be somewhat more ambitious than an individual project.
