People I Know

• Brown, Nathan. A former astronomy major at Caltech, now at one of Southern California's aerospace corporations (it's hard to tell which one, given all the mergers). His website is very extensive and definitely cool.
• Hester, Janice. She used to be Annika's roommate. She used to work in the same research group as me ... but I guess we scared her off because she's working for David Spergel now.
• Ho, Shirley. An astrophysics grad student who lives down in the dungeon in Peyton Hall where the only way to determine the weather is to see whether water is leaking down through the ceiling.
• Hubisz, Jay. He's a grad student at Cornell (err ... not anymore, now he's at Fermilab).
• Ishak, Mustapha. Another researcher at Princeton (now UT Dallas) who is working on gravitational lensing.
• Nasr, Amin. The comparitive literature major who hangs out with physicists. He knows as much as I do about heterotic string theory.
• Peter, Annika. Annika is my beautiful wife. She keeps me out of trouble.
• Schein, Michael. Mr. Schein is a pure mathematician, which means he has no conception of the real world. (This is a consequence of his refusal to believe in the importance of the real numbers.) Even so, can you believe he chose Harvard over Princeton?
• Seljak, Uros. Uros was my graduate advisor ... we worked on gravitational lensing (of anything and everything). He believes that "E" and "B" polarization are appropriately named.
• Takahashi, Yuki. Yuki was in my class at Caltech, and is also interested in space ...
• Tkacik, Gasper. One of the first-year physicists here at Princeton; he started out working for my advisor, but has since switched to biophysics. His own biophysics is very interesting: he can survive on one meal per day.
• Todd, Melissa. Melissa was a CS major at Caltech, then ended up doing something involving biology. (I don't understand biology because it has more than three electrons.)
• Williams, Jenny. I went to elementary school with her.
