Teaching and Outreach
In addition to doing research, I have also taught classes in Physics and Astronomy at the undergraduate and graduate level. At the University of Costa Rica, from 1996 to 1998, I taught the general astronomy class, a year-long course in Quantum Mechanics (Shankar) and Radiative Transport and Processes in Astrophysics. There, I also led a group for public outreach organizing activities that spanned from amateur astronomy classes to the production of the "School of Physics Astronomy Calendar". Moreover, last year I taught ASTR440, an upper division class on Astrophysics at the University of Southern California. The emphasis there was the Physics of Stars, Supernovae, Compact Objects and Accretion Disks (including a "crash-course" on General Relativity for astronomers).
