Back to telecons

MLDC telecon, October 17, 2009

  • Attending: Michele, Neil, Stas, Antoine...

MLDC4 dataset checks

  • Stas: BHs are there, have reasonable frequency distribution
  • lisaXML checksums fail on 64-bit platforms
  • problems with number of points in various dataset products: look at Steffen’s directory to debug
  • Michele: still troubleshooting memory usage in mergeXML.py
  • Michele: fixed synthetic LISA stochastic background—a question of timestep; still find a plateau in T at very low frequencies, believe it’s just a spectral estimation problem. Neil remembers having fixed this somehow (how?)

MLDC4 with LISA simulators

  • Break stochastic file into single pseudosources, run them one by one through lisasim and accumulate sum
  • lisasim now modified to begin at t0 != 0 (but t0 should lie on timestep), with different 2^N durations: verify that cosmic string barycentric have 2^N + padding points
  • will have to cut out extra data on the edges of datasets within mergeXML.py (synthlisa does not need this)

More on MLDC4

  • Request to post intermediate TDI files (single source) for training set; especially the Galaxy and stochastic background
  • Antoine put in SMBH proceeding

AOB

  • Telecons now moving to Thursdays 8am
